Fish and seafood are made by water for more than 70%. Thus, they suffer from a loss of freshness and from the ensuing physiological decay due to dehydration. Limiting dehydration and preserving a homogeneous temperature are crucial factors for a correct preservation.
Misting or humidification of fish and seafood products enables to recover up to 10% of the products’ natural weight loss.
Fish and seafood products displayed on ice, in refrigerated counters or stored in a cold room, tend to go bad quickly because of progressive dehydration.
They lower ambient temperature avoiding the need to cover fish with ice scales preserving its freshness for a longer time. Atomized water keeps flying insects away and deposits only on the products, it doesn’t wet the floor and it doesn’t get in the way of staff’s work.
Natural Misting systems create a drizzle or a mist of pure water which interrupts the dehydration process covering the products like a blanket and preserving the bright colors typical of high quality products. Water drops atomized by the devices remove heat from ambient air and lower temperatures.
They promote delicate and homogeneous cooling preventing displayed products or products stored in cold rooms from losing weight.
Fish and seafood remain fresh longer, also in the customer’s fridge.
The quality of the fish and seafood department is an important factor when customers choose their family shop. Customers purchase fish and seafood relying on their appearance.
Products need to be well visible: covering them with ice in order to preserve them longer is not the best strategy and entails energy costs for the production of ice and personnel costs for working hours spent to rearrange the counter.
Installing a misting or humidification system and offering quality products with a display that stimulates purchases, makes investment profitable and quickly repayable because it improves the department’s profitability reducing natural weight loss and increasing product turnover.
Systems work 24/7, fish and seafood can be left on the counter, conveniently protected, also at night.
Keeping fish and seafood fresh for a longer period of time means a drastic reduction of food waste.
Misting and humidification systems make the sale of non-packaged products easier. They provide a significant contribution to reduce the consumption of packaging plastic.
To ensure efficiency and hygiene, humidification and misting systems are equipped with a mechanical filtering station and with a reverse osmosis membrane.
A regular and periodical basic maintenance consisting in the replacement of consumable components is required.
Natural Misting’s low and high pressure misting systems and filter stations outside the Italian national territory, are supplied in assembly kits.
The supply of the kit includes, in addition to the devices, all the components necessary for installation such as tubes, hydraulic fittings and nozzles.
Particular situations may require the customisation of the systems. Our technical service will study a suitable configuration.
Misting and humidification reduce the temperature of the air surrounding products. System can be adjusted by staff according to the preferred humidity level.
NM systems are customized according to the customer’s needs and can adapt to any set-up..
The low pressure misting system is connected to the water supply. Water runs through a filtering station with activated carbons and a reverse osmosis membrane. At regular intervals a low pressure pump pushes it in the bar where nozzles are fixed. Water thus transformed into micro-drops disperses immediately creating a light and refreshing rain. Intervals of misting supply are set in advance but can be modified by the user.
The high pressure misting system is connected to the water supply.
Water runs through a filtering station with activated carbons and a reverse osmosis membrane. At regular intervals a low pressure pump pushes it in the pipe where nozzles are fixed. Water thus transformed into micro-drops disperses immediately creating a light and refreshing rain. Intervals of misting supply can be programmed.
The ultrasonic humidification system is connected to the water supply. Water runs through a filtering station with activated carbons and a reverse osmosis membrane. Collected in an expansion tank it is channeled in a tank where vibrating transducers atomize it into micro drops of less than 5 xx. The production of mist is continuous, and staff can regulate the exit speed from nozzles.
The De-Icing melting system is connected to the hot water of refrigerating circuits or to specific heaters and is mixed with the cold water coming from the water supply. It is runs through a filtering station with activated carbons. With regular supply cycles a pump channels it to the nozzles producing a thick rain which melts ice.
